Meet the Team at Deck Dentistry
At Deck Dentistry, Drs. Greg and Carolyn Deck and their team are dedicated to helping their patients look and feel their absolute best. From simple preventive appointments, to the reconstruction of full smiles, we always strive to ensure that every patient receives the highest standards of professional dental care, and that their experience with us is both positive and rewarding.
Dr. Greg Deck
Dr. Greg Deck grew up in Hanmer, Ontario, a small town North of Sudbury. He received a B.Sc in Biochemistry from Laurentian University in 1992. Upon graduation, he moved to Winnipeg and enrolled in the University of Manitoba's School of Dentistry, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1996. From 1996 until 1999, Dr. Deck was an associate dentist in St Thomas.
Dr. Deck is on the dental team and has operating room privileges at Clinton hospital. Dr. Deck places and restores implants from single units to full dentures. He is also certified in comprehensive orthodontics, including standard metal, ceramic brackets, and Invisalign®.
An active member of the community, he served on the executive for the Stratford and District Dental Society, and is a past member of the General Council for the Ontario Dental Association where he received his Leadership and Governances certificates. Dr. Deck has been a board member for Sharedent for the past six years. Dr. Deck has coached minor sports, including both soccer and hockey. Currently he enjoys watching his 3 children play hockey, ringette, baseball and soccer. In his spare time he enjoys hockey and snowmobiling, golf and fishing, however he competitively races in triathlons and has competed and placed in several Ironman events.
Dr. Carolyn Deck
A native of Winnipeg, Dr. Carolyn Deck attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in 1992. She went on to pursue dentistry and graduated with honours, receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1996.
Growing up, Dr. Deck was heavily involved in rhythmic gymnastics and competed on a national level. With a busy training schedule, she coached rhythmic gymnastics at the Mini-University of Manitoba. During her undergraduate university years, Dr. Deck also coached competitive gymnastics.
She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the Canadian Society of Oral Implantologists, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Deck has dedicated her time with the Ontario Dental Association General Council and has received a four year Governance Award.
She has received certification from the Centre for Advanced Dental Education in Oral Plastic Surgery and the School of Dentistry Temple University & Misch International Implant Institute in Facial Anatomy and Advanced Bone Grafting.
While she enjoys all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Deck particularly appreciates oral surgery whether it's surgical extractions, dental implants, or gum grafting. She also enjoys endodontic and crown and bridge treatment.
Dr. Deck is very involved in her community. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Mitchell and served as president in 2011-2012. A proud mother of three children, she is active in their sporting activities, including hockey, ringette, soccer, and baseball. In her spare time, she enjoys casual running, pilates, reading, and watching movies. She also loves to travel.
Dr. Lizzy Davenport
Dr. Lizzy Davenport grew up in London, Ontario, she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science (HB.Sc) in Chemistry with a minor in French language, and a Certificat de Français des Affaires from Western University in 2016. In 2014 she worked for a year as a research scientist at 3M through Western’s internship program, and funded by two Industrial Undergraduate Student Research Awards (IUSRA). After graduation, Dr. Davenport moved to Dublin Ireland, where she completed her dentistry training at Trinity College Dublin in 2021, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Science (Immunology) (B.A) and Bachelor of Science in Dentistry (B.Dent.Sc).
While in school, Dr. Davenport conducted research on the influence of odour on trust in a dental setting. She was fortunate enough to present this research as a finalist in the International Association for Disability and Oral Health abstract competition. In 2019 Dr. Davenport travelled to Guatemala to do some volunteer dentistry in the Peronia clinic through the Spear foundation. She really enjoyed visiting with the people there, experiencing their culture and the coffee plantations.
Dr. Davenport enjoys working with children and persons with special needs and is looking forward to continuing her education in this direction. Additionally, she enjoys endodontics, extractions and crown and bridgework.
Dr. Davenport has been involved in skiing since the age of two and grew up racing at Boler mountain in London. Since then, she has coached racing at various local hills, as well as volunteering with Track 3. Through this, Dr. Davenport has received several spirit awards including the Josh Mazza spirit award, and the most sportswoman-like award for ski racing.
In her spare time, Dr. Davenport enjoys running half marathons with her dad (she has him beat 2:1) and playing music. Her favourite instruments to jam on are the piano and guitar. Dr. Davenport hopes to start piano lessons (again) to learn some jazz voicings.
